Alpecin Shampoo Introduction and how I found it
This review of the Alpecin Shampoo is based on my personal experience from my hair condition of trying to thicken my hair and stop hair from falling out. I will review on its effectiveness for what it says it does, as well as any other positives or negatives I found.
As a follower of holistic approaches to everything, I also believe that health conditions should be approached this way, hence why I will also approach it this way.
The reason for holistic approach to health works is because you look at the body as a whole and see why something happens. If the opposite approach was used, it would be like trying to look at the wheels of the car and why they aren’t moving the car, when you are actually out of petrol! Makes no logical sense to view things on their own, unless you use both methods in combination, which is wise.
Chart of the known Shampoos
Having recommended it by a friend, I had high hopes for this shampoo to at least help stop more of my hair from falling out – but I was very wrong. The alpecin shampoo does not actually stop hair from falling, nor does it even “stimulate” hair follicles to grow – I can honestly say this, after 6 months of use everyday.
Not only that, but the shampoo actually contains fat based ingredients, which make the hair artificially appear thicker and smoother; but in reality, its not actually helping with the root cause of the problem, let alone stopping hair from falling out.
I would not recommend the Alpecin Shampoo for hair growth – But if you actually like your hair to just artificially appear better, then go for it – but your hair will still keep falling.
The above chart shows the top hair growth shampoos rated by people themselves on forums; I extracted the data from a forum analyzer which is 98% accurate, and having used 4 of the products above, I can say a lot about them personally.
Taoist Soap for Hair (from handmadesoapuk.org): This is the soap that actually helped me stop the inflammation on my hair, which is what causes hair loss (yes, DHT causes inflammation, which then causes hair loss). This soap, made from a combination of herbs, and organic Korean mountain taoist earth, it detoxifies the scalp, clears clogged pores and reaches the 7 layers of skin to help renew skin cells as well as follicles – this also stops the inflammation process as already mentioned.
Fast Hair growth shampoo: This is a great shampoo to actually accelerate your hair growth for the hair that is already growing. Some people seem to think it works for actual hair re-growth, but this did not work for me, and I used it for 8 months (yes, i have spent 4 years of my life looking at various hair growth shampoos, products and methods of helping and stopping hair from falling).
I won’t go into detail about the other shampoos, but they are similar to the Alpecin shampoo in terms of improving artificially, the look of your hair – but this is no good if you actually want to stop hair loss from happening, so in my opinion, why bother buying it.
So, does this mean I shouldn’t use the Alpecin Shampoo at all?
As I said, some people just want an artificial thickening of their hair – so for that purpose it is fine. But in now way, does this shampoo actually helps with stopping of hair loss, let alone regrowing hair to thicker strands.
Hair loss in men is often said that DHT hormone to be the root cause of hair loss; but this is actually not precisely accurate – because DHT does not make the hair fall, its the inflammation that occurs because of DHT is what causes the hair to fall!
I am still surprised that till this day, there is very little talk about this online; whilst it is known in the scientific community (I would know, because my closest teacher is one of the top medical scientists on inflammation research in Harvard Medical Dana fabar college).
So what is the best out there?
I have done a separate review on how I found the taoist soap, on another lens on squidoo, so I won’t review that on here due to the title of this page being a review for the Alpecin Shampoo!

Bonus – Extras to Practice for your Hair Problems
Hair falls for various reasons, although inflammation is the cause for all hair fall, be it in men or women, it is important to know that no one product actually stops hair to fall – but if you approach a holistic way, and do a combination of things to help your health, you will surely succeed.
So try these for a change:
– Scalp massage everyday for 10-15 minutes
– Relax and meditate for 10-15 minutes a day
– Do something you love for an hour a day
– If you are always busy, have alone time at least 1 hour a day
– If you are not so busy and dont meet many people, then get out your comfort zone and meet people (join a class etc)
– Add lots of greens like Kale and Spinach in your diet; if you can’t eat them raw, heat them a little with sesame oil
I know it sounds ridiculous that some of the above will help hair loss issues, but it does because it changes the hormonal system inside your body – when you feel different, you change your hormone environment inside your body, which is very significant – imagine changing your diet and your mental state, as well as scalp massage and exercising will have on your scalp and body!
